The Daily News

The Daily News is an American daily newspaper based in New York City. The paper is owned by Tronc, which acquired the newspaper from the Tribune Company in 2017. The News has a long tradition of tabloid journalism and was the first U.S. newspaper to publish a daily tabloid edition. During much of its history, the newspaper was a self-proclaimed Republican paper and espoused conservative populism. In recent decades however, the News has adopted a moderate to liberal editorial stance and is often contrasted with its right-wing rival, the New York Post.
